Warning - Armourer kits (Legacy TK ANH)

Post by Darth Kaden on Sun 03 Jan 2016, 18:37

WARNING! Beware of purchasing kits from this site, do your research as members of the 99th who have purchased & do not waste your money

Information from the armourer's website, most of which is highly inaccurate. Please remember that many of the images showcased on the website are not of FX armour which this kit is cast from & therefore are not a true representation of what is on offer to the buyer

100% Money back guarantee if you are not satisfied or approved by your costume club
Star Wars Stormtrooper Costume armour kit ready to assemble.

Helmet is ANH Stunt
Sent Next day after cleared payment
All the parts needed to make a full kit!

Please remember that this is made the same way as it was in 1977 not the same as we make things in 2014. For example a 2014 Mustang is going to be very different to drive and in looks than a 1977 Mustang! This means that each part is vacuum formed and hand trimmed, it is not the same as a perfect injection moulded plastic part that would be produced from a 2014 machine in a modern factory. It is made the same way as they were in 1977 for the Starwars films.

This armour will fit anyone from 5 feet 4 (1.64m) upto 6 feet 2 (1.95m)

The armour is 2mm thick UV stable ABS plastic. It is strong and flexible. Durable and lightweight.

Glossy white does not need any spraying and easy to remove scratches and buff it with any car polish

Instructions are emailed

Instructions are made by 501st members.
So if you follow the instructions then you should be approved for the 501st

This helmet is ANH Stunt
It is not assembled! It comes with flat green lenses only.
For the 501st approval the armour needs to have the seam running down the front of the legs like this armour has. You will need to add white material around the belt strap as some garisons insist on this.
Will fit Male or Female
Height 1.64 m (5 foot 4 inch) to 1.95 m (6 foot 2 inch)

Holster, boots, gun, body suit, gloves and neck seal are NOT included.
Glue, nuts and bolts and Velcro is not included.
Payment by Paypal, direct bank transfer

The kit is made of of very thin & flexible plastic which did make me wonder if it was abs at all. It has a very high flex & thin enough to rip in some parts.

The colour of this set was cream even though the eBay product information states the white abs plastic does not require painting (every piece will need painting).

Outsized armour
All items are larger than they should be & actually fit directly over the top of my display set which I believe this kit has been vac formed from instead of a buck. This causes most of the detailing to be lost as everything is soft with no sharp edges or definition.

Greeblies & small items
The additional pieces are poorly made & the Hovi Mic tips are unbelievable. A cap of some kind has been filled with resin popped out & painted black. the detonator end caps do not fit on the pipe & are too shallow to correct. many items are deformed & misshapen as seen with the drop boxes

Take a look & more to follow soon....

Additional information from Boogie & JaneB who were unfortunate in purchasing the armour from this vendor but lucky enough to get a full refund on the kit.

As shown at the time of receipt the kit is still supplied with Blue conduit pipe for the TD even though the description would still claim no painting of the kit is required.
